On April 11, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chechen Republic Nurdi Nuhazhiev held a working meeting with Head of the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic Vitaly Volkov.
Nurdi Nuhazhiev spoke about the formation and current state of the national human rights system in the Republic.
"The formation of the ombudsperson’s institution of the Republic has passed several stages. Today I can say with confidence that the national human rights system has taken place and it is working quite effectively. I am glad that people, whom we were able to help, thank us, and through us the state authorities of the Republic," the Commissioner said.
During the meeting, the ombudsperson gave Vitaly Volkov a report, which presented a summary analysis of the state of affaires in the field of human rights: «
"Even in times of crisis, we are not limited to publishing the results of our work only in electronic form. We try to actively produce printed materials, which are annual and special reports, brochures, our own newspaper and even book editions. As a rule, we send them to the state authorities, national and city libraries, as well as to many educational institutions," Nurdi Nuhazhiev said.
In turn, Vitaly Volkov thanked the ombudsperson for the collaboration and expressed readiness to work in close cooperation with the authorities of the Chechen Republic.
There is a formal agreement between the Commissioner for the Human Rights in the Chechen Republic and the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Chechen Republic.
