On 11 May, Commissioner for Human Rights in Astrakhan Region Andrey Spitsyn held open hours for the public with Commissioner for Children’s Rights Alexandra Kurmaeva and Prosecutor Alexander Lychagin. The event was held under the cooperation agreement.

Twenty seven people were given consultations. Among the main issues there were the long-term failures to execute court judgements to provide people with housing, disagreement with court decisions related to people having committed a criminal offence, unlawful dismissal, and implementation of the right to education.

All the complainants were consulted on the current legislation. Some complaints will be followed up by the Prosecutor of Astrakhan Region and the Regional Commissioner for Children’s Rights to be handled within the relevant competence.
