On April 18, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Ulyanovsk Region Lyudmila Krutilina attended the meeting of the Regional Council of the nationwide community organization «The Association of Lawyers of Russia».

During the meeting of the Council, it took stock of the implementation of the «Public Observer» project aimed at ensuring public control in the election of the President of the Russian Federation on March 18, 2018. More than 2000 observers in total took part in the project. The Council members discussed the prospects of the development of the Institution of Public Monitoring in the regional and local elections as well as the project of the Regional Programme for the development of legal literacy and citizens’ legal awareness for 2018–2020.

In the end, the Council members considered the preparations for the 8th International Summer Legal Forum «JurVolga», which will be held in the park-hotel «Arkhangelsk Sloboda» from August 20–23. The project of the Forum’s programme developed by the regional office was presented to the members of the Council. One day of the Forum is expected to be dedicated to the seventieth anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
