Among the appeals on the protection of civil (personal) rights, the rights of persons in places of detention come first.

Moreover, the Commissioner focused on the issue of violence against women and measures taken at the regional level to prevent it and assist women who became victims of domestic violence. The participants of the meeting were presented with a brochure prepared by the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Arkhangelsk Region, the Regional Ministry of Labor, Employment and Social Development, the regional Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the regional public organization «Crisis Center Nadezhda».

«First of all, while preparing this material we aimed at helping and assisting women who have been subjected to various forms of violence, as well as to their relatives, friends and all indifferent people who witnessed violence. The brochure talks about various forms and manifestations of violence, about institutions and public organizations where social and psychological assistance can be obtained, and also suggests an algorithm for applying administrative and criminal measures to the offender," Lyubov Anisimova said.
