Working visit of High Commissioner to Vladimir City

On 18 August, Tatiana Moskalkova met with Governor of Vladimir Region Svetlana Orlova. The head of the region and the High Commissioner exchanged their views on a wide range of human rights issues and discussed opportunities for mutual cooperation. In particular, they discussed interaction in the field of social support, public and utility services.

On the same day the High Commissioner met with Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of Vladimir Region Vladimir Kiselyov and Chairman of the Vladimir Region Court Alexander Malyshkin.

The parties discussed pressing issues of human rights protection in the region, namely the increase of the release on parole cases and decrease of investigation bodies’ requests for arrests. In addition, the participants discussed interaction between the regional legislative assembly and the human rights commissioner’s institution. Special attention was paid to the problem of resettling of people from dangerous buildings being architectural monuments or cultural heritage objects in Vladimir.

In Vladimir Region Tatiana Moskalkova will hold some meetings with high officials of regional bodies of federal authorities and the Election Commission. On 19 August, the High Commissioner will be a guest of the Terra Scientia on Klyazma River Russian Educational Youth Forum.
