On September 19, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova started out for the Chechen Republic.
During the visit, the High Commissioner met with citizens, representatives of the human rights community of the Chechen Republic, and leaders of public organizations.
During the discussion, special attention was paid to problems in the field of protecting the housing rights of citizens, protecting motorists’ rights on the roads and border posts of the Republic, searching for missing citizens, human rights education of young people, including measures to prevent radicalism and extremism among minors.
In addition, on September 19 in Grozny, Tatiana Moskalkova held a meeting with the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chechen Republic Nurdi Nukhazhiev, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, and the law enforcement bodies of Chechnya on applications from citizens residing in the Republic. Every appeal has been thoroughly studied. Currently, the employees of the Office of the High Commissioner are studying criminal cases initiated on appeals related to the missing citizens in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Chechen Republic.
