Working meeting with Commissioner for Human Rights in Murmansk Region

On 17 October, High Commissioner for HUman Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova held a working meeting with Commissioner for Human Rights in Murmansk Region Alexander Patrikeev.
The parties discussed a wide range of issues: from personal open office hours for the public by Skype to the upcoming Coordination Council of Commissioners for Human Rights.
The ombudspersons exchanged their opinions about the forthcoming event in Murmansk, i.e. the discussion platform ‘Future Development of the Arctic Area of Russia: Human Rights Vector’. Special attention at the forum will be paid to the issues of education, health and recreation of northerners, as well as problems of indigenous minorities of the North. In particular, it will be focused on the right of indigenous peoples to traditional crafts.
The most careful consideration was given to social rights: there has been an uptrend in the sector. "Now it is important to keep on moving," Tatiana Moskalkova said.
