Telephone conversation of High Commissioner with Human Rights Defender of Armenia

On April 25, Tatiana Moskalkova initiated a telephone conversation with Human Rights Defender of the Republic of Armenia Arman Tatoyan.
The High Commissioner expressed support for the efforts made by Arman Tatoyan to prevent the violation of human rights in such a difficult situation that is in the fraternal country now.
"You successfully defend the rights and freedoms of Armenian citizens, and this shows that the level of democracy in the country is static; people confide in you and your opportunities to find justice and truth and your ability to protect them from violations by the officials," said Tatiana Moskalkova.
The High Commissioner believes that at the crossroads of the history of the Republic of Armenia, the most important thing is to ensure that all political processes are being conducted in a civilized manner and do not affect the rights and freedoms of citizens.
Tatiana Moskalkova noted that she was closely following the developments in Armenia and was sure that the balance of interests would be achieved in the Republic by the efforts of all the constructive forces of civil society.
"Human rights and freedoms are values beyond politics. Only the scrupulous observance of them can lead to civil peace and prosperity. We are ready to provide our colleagues with any assistance not related to political affairs," the High Commissioner emphasized.
At the conclusion of the conversation, Tatiana Moskalkova expressed her confidence that the constructive and friendly ties between ombudspersons of the two countries, as well as their multilateral contacts within the framework of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance, would continue to develop for the benefit of the peoples of the two countries.
