On September 13, on the Single Election Day, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova spoke at a meeting of the Central Election Commission of the Russian Federation.
The federal ombudswoman spoke about the results of monitoring the abidance of the electoral rights of citizens during the preparation and holding of the Single Election Day, the work of the hotline organized in the Office of the High Commissioner, as well as interaction with regional ombudsmen.
The Office of the High Commissioner received 30 complaints about violation of electoral rights. According to Tatiana Moskalkova, these were appeals on the decision of the courts on the recognition of illegal actions and decisions of the election commissions, on the use of administrative resources in relation to the candidate for deputy of the representative body of local self-government, complaints on the issue of withdrawal from the elections.
The ombudswoman also said that there were practically no complaints about the organization and implementation of the electoral process.
