On October 31, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova took part in the World Conference of Compatriots «100th Anniversary of the Russian Revolution: Unity for the Future».

The High Commissioner considers it necessary to comprehend the contribution of Russians to the development of both the Russian Federation and foreign countries, in particular, to science, culture and art of foreign countries, as well as the participation of compatriots in the formation of modern Russia.
According to Tatiana Moskalkova, it is also necessary to study the genesis of Russophobia in the countries of residence of compatriots and the prospects for consolidation of communities in the context of modern international relations and the current information «challenging atmosphere». It is necessary to assess the contribution of compatriots’ organizations to the preservation and development of Russian Federation relations with foreign countries.
In addition, it is extremely important to support the activities of the Coordination Councils of Russian compatriots, public organizations, conferences and forums. Of great importance is the participation of young people in the work of uniting communities, which is directly related to human rights.
The High Commissioner pays close attention to this topic and requires the development of new and effective mechanisms to protect the rights of compatriots living abroad.
The conference is held from October 31 to November 1, 2017. The event is attended by 155 representatives from 92 countries.
