Tatiana Moskalkova met with Governor of Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport

On September 12 in Khabarovsk, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with regional Commissioner Igor Chesnitsky and Governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Vyacheslav Shport and discussed a wide range of issues related to ensuring the rights of citizens in the region. Among them: the issues of providing housing for social workers, including orphans, provision of land and environmental security.

During the meeting, the High Commissioner appealed to the head of the region to assist in eliminating wage arrears to the residents of the Khabarovsk region who worked or work in the FGUP "Main Military-Construction Department No. 6", which is subordinated to the Ministry of Defense of Russia.

Tatiana Moskalkova also stressed the effective work with Igor Chesnitsky.

"We will be able to raise the level of guarantees for the rights protection of our citizens only with the assistance of the regions, being in constant contact with local authorities. I expect that, while working in Khabarovsk, we will discuss, together with the Commissioners of the constituent entities of Russia in the Far Eastern Federal District, how to build effective interaction between government agencies and human rights defenders," said Tatiana Moskalkova.

According to Vyacheslav Shport, the institution of the Commissioner supplements the work of state structures and directly influences the mood in the society.

"We see a positive effect on your work and the work of the regional Commissioner, people trust this institution. Only in partnership we can find a way out of the most difficult life situations, influence the reduction of social tension", the head of the region stressed.

On September 13 Tatiana Moskalkova and Vyacheslav Shport will open the All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Issues of Ensuring the Rights and Freedoms of Human and the Citizen: A Regional Dimension". The High Commissioner will also visit several social and educational institutions of the Khabarovsk Krai and take part in the meeting of the Coordination Council of the Commissioners for Human Rights of the Far Eastern Federal District.
