Tatiana Moskalkova held meeting with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights

On June 9, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a videoconference conversation with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Michelle Bachelet.
The federal ombudswoman told the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights about the results of the activities in 2020 and the key results of her work over 5 years.
During the conversation, Tatiana Moskalkova paid attention to solving systemic issues by improving legislation, strengthening the status of the national human rights system in Russia and protecting human rights during a pandemic.
Tatiana Moskalkova and Michelle Bachelet discussed violation of the rights of Russian compatriots living abroad, as well as protection of women’s rights.
In conclusion, the Russian Commissioner invited the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to take part in the International Conference on Human Rights to be held on October 12 this year in Moscow.
