Tatiana Moskalkova held meeting with Secretary General of ENNHRI

On June 10, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a videoconference meeting with Secretary General of the European Network of National Human Rights Institutions (ENNHRI) Debbie Kohner.
Tatiana Moskalkova and Debbie Kohner paid special attention to protecting human rights during the spread of coronavirus infection. The Russian ombudswoman spoke about interaction with the foreign ombudspersons during the pandemic, addressing issues of returning people to homeland after the border closure and protecting the rights of migrants who managed to extend their legal status in Russia.
In addition, Tatiana Moskalkova spoke about the results of her activities for 2020, paying attention to strengthening the rights of indigenous peoples, persons with disabilities, and the protection of women’s rights.
In conclusion, the Russian Commissioner invited the Secretary General of ENNHRI to take part in the International Conference on Human Rights to be held on October 12 this year in Moscow.
In turn, Debbie Kohner invited Tatiana Moskalkova to share best practices on the protection of human rights during a pandemic with the heads of European national institutions.
