Tatiana Moskalkova approved appointment of Human Rights Commissioner in the Republic of Bashkortostan

On June 22, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held videoconference conversation with candidate for the post of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Bashkortostan Mikhail Zakomaldin.
Tatiana Moskalkova and Mikhail Zakomaldin discussed human rights issues in the social and housing spheres, as well as in criminal proceedings.
This year, the federal ombudswoman received 443 appeals from residents of the Republic of Bashkortostan. In the majority of complaints, people ask for help in matters related to compliance with the norms of criminal procedure and penal legislation, as well as labor law and the right to a healthy environment. Residents of the republic also face problems with the resettlement of dilapidated housing, as well as providing housing under a social rental agreement. In the housing sector, appeals are also received from defrauded participants of equity construction.
In conclusion, the federal ombudswoman agreed on the appointment of Mikhail Zakomaldin to the post of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Bashkortostan.
