Tatiana Moskalkova agreed on reappointment of Commissioner for Human Rights in Buryatia

On October 22, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a videoconference call with a candidate for the position of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Buryatia Julia Zhambalova.
During the conversation, Tatiana Moskalkova and Julia Zhambalova discussed topical issues related to the observance and protection of the region residents’ rights. The Commissioners paid special attention to the problems in social sphere related to medical support and the queue for social housing.
Moreover, the ombudswomen raised issues in the field of education, in particular, the lack places in preschool educational institutions.
Tatiana Moskalkova and Julia Zhambalova also discussed the problems of restoring the ecological state of Lake Baikal.
Following the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova positively assessed the results of interaction with the regional ombudswoman and agreed on the appointment of Julia Zhambalova for a second term.
