Participation in XIII congress of commissioners for children’s rights in Russian regions

On 16 May, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova participated in the XIII Congress of Commissioners for Children’s Rights in Russia’s Federal Constituent Entities held in
Addressing the plenary session named ‘Protection of Minor Patient’s Rights: Tasks, Problems and Perspectives of Solving’, Tatiana Moskalkova noted the high relevance of the problem of children in need of medical care rights protection. The High Commissioner also outlined directions of coordination of efforts by commissioners for human and children’s rights to provide minor patients with legal and humanitarian assistance.
Tatiana Moskalkova stressed that disabled children’s rights protection needed a particular attention especially in the fields of the establishment of disability, providing them with social benefits and payments, medicines, special medical assistance, and technical means of rehabilitation.
Presidential Commissioner for Children’s Rights Pavel Astakhov, Russian Foreign Ministry Commissioner for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Konstantin Dolgov, Deputy Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Tatiana Yakovleva, Head of the State Duma Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Olga Epifanova, Head of the Council of Europe Programme Office in the Russian Federation Petr Sich alongside the High Commissioner sat on the plenary session’s panel.
