On results of victims’ rights observance inspection in Omsk Region
On 20 July, a staff member of the Office of the Russian Federation High Commissioner for Human Rights submitted his report on results of the inspection conducted to supervise observance of rights of the victims having suffered from the barracks’ collapse in Omsk Region.
The staff of the Training Centre has been relocated to other military units of the garrison. The inspection of hospitals in Omsk revealed that they are fully equipped and have all medicines required to provide aid to the injured. On 15 July, a serviceman, Valeriy Lebedev died of the injures. High Commissioner for Human Rights Ella Pamfilova expressed her condolences to his family and friends.

The families of the dead and injured servicemen are given detailed information on social security benefits and indemnities provided by law, while the Ministry of Defence of Russia, the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, and the Chief Military Prosecutor’s Office of the Russian Federation are taking all necessary measures.
The provision of corresponding assistance to the injured servicemen and their families are followed up by the High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia.
