In the interaction of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, its Office and the Commissioner for Human Rights in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, a new format is opening - an internship for regional ombudsmen.
On September 17 and 18, the Human Rights House is visited by the state human rights defender in the Chelyabinsk region Yulia Sudarenko.
The regional ombudswoman will get acquainted with the main activities of the High Commissioner - organization of personal reception of citizens, consideration of complaints, information support, preparation of annual and special reports, international cooperation and legal education.
This event is unique in the history of the Institute of the Commissioner. The initiative to introduce a new internship format for regional Commissioners was put forward by Tatiana Moskalkova in order to transfer the best practices to the regions, especially in cases of newly elected ombudsmen, and to improve the state ensuring the rights and freedoms of people in the constituent entities of the Russian Federation.
The management of the Ombudsman's Office expressed the hope that such visits will become a permanent practice, which will contribute to the improvement of mechanisms of state human rights protection throughout Russia.
“The system of state human rights protection is not just a set of organizations with specific functions. These are people, close-knit teams working for a common good cause - the protection of human rights and freedoms. A sense of shoulder, support and camaraderie is important here,” Tatiana Moskalkova noted on her Instagram.
