On December 8, on the eve of Human Rights Day, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a meeting with representatives of public human rights organizations.

Opening the event, Tatiana Moskalkova thanked the human rights activists for the joint work. In turn, human rights activists noted the role of the High Commissioner in a number of resonant cases related to positive decisions in restoring the rights and freedoms of citizens.

Special attention was paid to the work of the Federal Ombudsman in providing assistance to citizens who are in prison.

In addition, representatives of human rights organizations drew attention to the existing problems of human rights protection that they faced in their activities and asked for the assistance of the Federal Ombudsman.

In conclusion, Tatiana Moskalkova noted that the information received from human rights activists requires reflection and the most serious analysis. In addition, the High Commissioner expressed her hope that the work on joint solution of problems in the field of human rights protection will be continued in close contact with human rights organizations.
