Meeting with representatives of foreign countries

On 11 March, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Ella Pamfilova met with the Head of the EU Delegation to Russia, as well as with ambassadors and representatives of 27 countries: Australia, Austria, Bulgaria, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Japan, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden and USA.

The discussion focussed on the situation of Nadezhda Savchenko.

The diplomats did not voice claims to the Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia to release Ms Savchenko immediately, since the issue is not in the Commissioner’s mandate.

Ms Pamfilova assured that she would continue keeping a close watch on the humanitarian and procedural aspects of the case within her mandate.
