Meeting of High Commissioner with OSCE / ODIHR Director
On May 12, at the House of Human Rights, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met Director of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Matteo Mecacci.
The High Commissioner emphasized the high importance of international cooperation in protecting human rights and freedoms, but expressed concern about the politicization of human rights in the international arena, discrimination against the Russian-speaking population in the Baltic countries and Ukraine, pressure on Russian-language media and violation of the rights of Russian citizens abroad.
Following the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova and Matteo Mecacci confirmed their readiness for further constructive cooperation in the protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
