Meeting of High Commissioner with members of PACE delegation

On June 30, at the House of Human Rights, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a working meeting with members of the PACE Committee on the Honouring of Obligations and Commitments by Member States of the Council of Europe.

The federal ombudswoman spoke about the main areas of activity and the results of work over 5 years.

During the meeting, the participants discussed human rights issues during the pandemic, the protection of electoral rights and interaction with civil society institutions.

The High Commissioner also told the members of the PACE delegation about the preparations for the Single Voting Day on September 19 this year. A special hotline has already been deployed in the Commissioner’s Office, to which a person can report about a violation of electoral rights. Also monitoring group on the observance of citizens ' rights is operating.

At the end of the meeting, the Commissioner expressed hope for strengthening further cooperation with PACE members in the protection of human rights.
