International conference timed to 20th anniversary of public human rights institutions started in Uzbekistan

On 20 October, Tashkent hosts an international conference timed to the 20th anniversary of public human rights institutions in Uzbekistan.

High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova adressed the participants and told them about main lines of human rights cooperation with Uzbenistan counterparts and progressive experience of Russia in the field of human rights. Tatiana Moskalkova also proposed to renew the cooperation agreement between the Human Rights Commissioner (Ombudsman) of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation, and to extend it, for example, with possible joint open office hours for nationals of Russia and Uzbekistan by videoconferencing.
