High Commissioner signed Order to create Expert Council
On 13 October, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Tatiana Moskalkova signed an Order about the Expert Council. The Order establishes a new Expert Council, specifies objectives, competence and organisational basis of the Council’s activity, as well as the power of its members.
The Expert Council is a consultative body, which was established pursuant to Article 41 of the Federal Constitutional Law On the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation.
Main objectives of the Expert Council are to elaborate recommendations, consult and inform the High Commissioner on the issues of protection of human and civil rights and freedoms, as well as to interact with State authorities and civil society institutions that ensure protection of human and civil rights and freedoms.
