High Commissioner requests information on Nadezhda Savchenko

On 23 July, High Commissioner for Human Rights in Russia Ella Pamfilova has submitted official requests to the Prosecutor General’s Office and the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for urgent information about location of Nadezhda Savchenko.

"In connection with the delay in provision of the reliable data on Nadezhda Savchenko’s location,…I request to provide all necessary information on the matter," the official letter submitted to Prosecutor General of Russia Yury Chayka and Director of the FPS of Russia Gennadiy Kornienko says.

On 13 July, the Prosecutor General’s Office announced it had confirmed its indictment and submitted the criminal case related to Nadezhda Savchenko to Donetsk Town Court of Rostov Region. No official information on Nadezhda Savchenko’s location has been received yet.
