On November 12, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a personal reception of citizens from the Republic of Buryatia in a videoconferencing mode.
Traditionally, most complaints coming to the Office of the federal ombudsman concern the social sphere. Today, pensioner S., a former employee of the Russian Emergencies Ministry Directorate for the Republic of Buryatia, approached the High Commissioner.
In 2002, he was registered and included in the waiting list for obtaining accommodation, but to date, a lump sum payment for the purchase of housing has not been provided to the man.
Now the applicant and his family live in
Tatiana Moskalkova and the staff of the High Commissioner’s Office listened to the applicant’s arguments, examined the submitted documents and court orders. The federal ombudsman took the appeal for personal control.
"It is extremely unfair when a family is left without housing and with no hope of housing. And I will do my best to achieve a positive resolution of the issue," Tatiana Moskalkova said.
