High Commissioner presented Report 2020 to Federation Council Committee

On April 13, Tatiana Moskalkova presented the Report on the Activities of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation for 2020 to the Federation Council Committee on Constitutional Legislation and State Building.

The High Commissioner paid special attention to the legislation improvement. In total, the proposals of the state human rights defender have been taken into account in 45 federal laws over 5 years.
Tatiana Moskalkova expressed gratitude to the members of the Committee for supporting the initiative and for the drafting and adoption of the Federal Law on Commissioners for Human Rights in the Constituent Entities of the Russian Federation and other bills expanding their opportunities to protect the rights of citizens. The High Commissioner also answered questions from senators.
