High Commissioner presented preliminary results of activities in 2020

High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova shared on Instagram preliminary results of the activities in 2020.

In 2020, the state human rights defender received 44,087 appeals — this is a record figure for the last 5 years, including 1,910 collective complaints.

A special hotline was organized in the High Commissioner’s Office, which received more than 10,000 calls, including 2,800 complaints concerning the protection of human rights during a pandemic.

The federal ombudswoman also spoke about the results of other areas of activities: international cooperation, human rights education, legislation improvement and coordination of the activities of regional ombudspersons.
