On October 17, as part of a working visit to Bryansk, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with region’s governor Alexander Bogomaz.

Tatiana Moskalkova and Alexander Bogomaz discussed the human rights situation in the Bryansk region. The meeting participants paid special attention to the protection of citizens' social rights, in particular, the right to social security for persons with disabilities. In addition, the High Commissioner and the governor discussed health issues, as well as problems of defrauded shareholders. Special attention was paid to the problem of environmental safety of the population.

At the end of the meeting, the High Commissioner expressed hope for further active cooperation on the observance and protection of the rights of residents of the region.
