On 14 November, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held a personal reception of citizens.

During the reception, representatives of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of boarding type «Lyceum-boarding complex personality formation of children and adolescents» addressed the High Commissioner.

Lyceum carries out educational activities in the village Tekos, Krasnodar Region, since 1994.

The educational complex consists of a number of low-rise buildings located on a large area in the mountains near the sea. Comfortable conditions for training and development are created in the lyceum. According to the representatives of the lyceum, the methodology of education and upbringing of children is fundamentally different from the traditional one.

According to the applicants, since the beginning of 2019, inspections had been conducted in the school, in July, the Lyceum activities were suspended for three months. In August, the buildings were sealed, and children were transferred for further education to other educational institutions, despite the absence of a court decision to close the lyceum.

Thus, the children were deprived of not only the comfortable educational environment, but also of the opportunity to live in the educational institution.

Tatiana Moskalkova listened to the arguments of the applicants, studied the submitted materials and took the appeal up.

Based on the results of the reception, the High Commissioner plans to appeal to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the Prosecutor 's Office of the Krasnodar Territory.
