For the first time women will study in the flight school

In July, as part of her speech at the forum «The Territory of Meanings on Klyazma», High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova stated that she received many appeals from young women who wanted to serve in the army, but could not become pilots.

"Maybe not everyone will support me, but I think that girls are infringed in the right to serve as soldiers. This is wrong", said the High Commissioner.

In September, 100 young women arrived in Krasnodar Flight School to pass the entrance tests and, if successful, become a pilot of combat aviation.

The fate of the girls will be decided by Recruiting Commission, including Hero of the Soviet Union Valentina Tereshkova and twice Hero of the Soviet Union Svetlana Savitskaya.

In the third year of training it will become clear which planes the girls will fly on, and before that they will master the machines of the primary flight training.

But for this they have to go through three main stages: professional selection, medical-flight commission and standards for physical training.

Only 15 of the 100 applicants will be enlisted.
