On May 19, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova together with the regional prosecutor held a personal reception of citizens in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
During the reception, the federal ombudswoman was approached by a woman who said that in 2016 she bought a residential building, which is now a subject to demolition by a court decision, because it is located in the pipeline’s protection zone.
When the family bought the house, it was legally allowed to construct a building at a distance of 25 meters from the pipeline. Then the legislation changed, the distance increased to 150 meters. For more than 5 years, a woman has been trying to get justice. Residents of 64 new houses in the neighborhood are in a similar situation. Families with children, disabled people and pensioners may be left without the only housing.
They are bona fide home purchasers, which means they must be fairly compensated for all losses. The corresponding statement of claim against the administration of the village is already in court.
Tatiana Moskalkova took this case for personal control.
