According to public opinion polls, human rights and freedoms in the social sphere are of high priority for Russian citizens. This means that people are primarily interested in ensuring the right to a decent standard and quality of life.
I was approached by a human rights activist of the Moscow Regional Public Organization the «Professional Union of Servicemen and their family members» K., who due to circumstances had lost his only shelter.
The man needed to sign an individual program of social services provision in the «Center for social adaptation „Lublino“ for homeless and unemployed persons». It implied, in particular, medical insurance policy provision, a referral for employment and assistance in resolving legal issues.
Having familiarized myself with the materials, I appealed to the Minister of the Government of Moscow, the head of the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population of Moscow with a request to assist the applicant.
In late August, I was informed that the Center for social adaptation for homeless and unemployed persons named after E. Glinka recognized K. as needing social services. Together with him, an individual program was developed and a contract was concluded, until the expiry of which the organization established no restrictions on the stay of K. in the institution.
The human rights activist confirmed the information and expressed gratitude for rendering assistance in solving his problems.
