Dialogue with High Commissioner. Protection of rights to education

Dialogue with High Commissioner. Protection of rights to education

Studentship is a special period of life of each person. I receive many appeals from young and active citizens of our country with requests to restore justice and help them to get access to education. Sometimes teachers tend to protect their students.

I was approached by the staff of Tulun Agrarian Technical School where infants with disabilities and from low-income families, who have been left without parenteral care, are taught.

According to the applicants there are unsafe studying conditions in the school. Moreover, repair and finishing works are made at the expense of students and staff, while scholarships are paid out of time and not in full. Appeals to corresponding authorities didn’t lead to positive results.

Having studied the materials, I sent a request to the Ministry of Education of the Irkutsk Region.

According to the response, inspection was carried out and the case was confirmed.

The administration of the school developed a comprehensive program of dormitory work, brought working documentation in line with the requirements, and organized the accrual of the state academic scholarship to the students twice a year.

Thus the right and legitimate interests of 1500 students have been restored.
