Dialogue with High Commissioner. Ownership

Dialogue with High Commissioner. Ownership

In our state, the inviolability of private property is protected by law, but even it sometimes cannot stop scammers striving to cash in on someone’s grief.

I was approached by a resident of the city of Shakhty, Rostov Region. Plotters misappropriated her home by forging of documents. The woman wrote to various authorities but could not achieve justice.

The police initiated criminal proceedings, but the process was soon suspended. All this time the frauds disposed of my complainant’s apartment at their discretion.

I asked the Prosecutor General 's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs to deal with this difficult situation.

Together we have managed to resume the preliminary investigation. Investigators quickly found the perpetrators and later the court, weighing all the circumstances, assigned them all a term in the colony of general regime. The women’s rights were restored.

Unfortunately, reports of housing fraud often appear in the news. Most often the victims of intruders are the most defenseless citizens: pensioners, veterans, single people. This factor only exacerbates the brutality of such crimes.

At the same time, no matter how lonely the victims are, there are people in our state who are ready to protect them. Among them are the Human Rights Commissioners, who stand guard of the rights of citizens in every subject of our vast country.
