Complainant’s housing issue resolved through direct assistance of federal and regional ombudsmen

High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova was approached by well-known Russian human rights activist Svetlana Gannushkina asking for assistance to G., a resident of Grozny.

The woman found herself in a difficult life situation: the dormitory she lived in was declared emergency. Therefore, she was forced to immediately move to another place of residence.
Having thoughtfully examined the situation, Tatiana Moskalkova appealed to Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chechen Republic Nurdi Nukhazhiev with a request for assistance to G.

The regional commissioner appealed to Grozny Mayor’s Office. As a result, the citizen was offered accommodation with better living conditions in another dormitory, which is closer to the city centre.

The woman moved to the housing provided. She was satisfied with the rooms in her new apartment. In addition, the Grozny Mayor’s Office has committed to repairing the housing as necessary.

Therefore, thanks to the cooperation of Tatiana Moskalkalkova and Nurdi Nukhazhiev, it was possible to promptly resolve the housing problem of the applicant.
