22 June. Day of Memory and Grief

22 June. Day of Memory and Grief. We commemorate all those who fell killed in battles, who were tortured to death in the fascist captivity, died from hunger and hardships at the home front. We grieve over all those who paid their lives to discharge the sacred duty protecting our Homeland. The ferrous rain of the war touched almost each our family. 27 million deaths. We remember.

Today, the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation has taken part in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Moscow.

22 June. Day of Memory and Grief. And the day of pride. Pride for the quiet courage of our fathers, grandfathers and grand grandfathers. Pride for their faith in their country and nation, in our victory. The victorious May of 1945 started on 22 June.

Let those who were killed be in our memory forever.
