Ukrainian sailors in Lefortovo Prison began to undergo in-depth medical examination

On February 19, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova commented that the leadership of Pretrial Detention Center No. 2 (SIZO-2 Lefortovo) and the investigation department of the Federal Security Service of the Russian Federation had held talks with the Moscow Department of Health. As a result, today, Ukrainian sailor Andrey Artemyev was sent to Municipal Clinical Hospital No.1 (Pirogov Hospital) to undergo an in-depth examination.

In addition, on February 21, Ukrainian sailors Andrey Eider and Vasily Soroka will be examined in Municipal Clinical Hospital No.1 and Municipal Polyclinic No.4, respectively.

The survey sites were chosen taking into account the presence of highly qualified specialists and equipment necessary for the diagnostics. If the examination shows the need for in-depth treatment, it will be carried out in a timely manner.

"Our constructive cooperation in protecting human rights and helping people in difficult circumstances helps to effectively solve the most difficult problems. It is enough to recall the story of hunger striker Oleg Sentsov, who was convicted of terrorism," Tatiana Moskalkova said.
