Tatiana Moskalkova spoke about importance of cooperation with Uzbekistan on education and protection of migrants’ rights

On January 16, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova participated in the Uzbek-Russian round table discussion "Cooperation for human rights and the rule of law: humanitarian aspects of cooperation between the ombudsman institutions of Uzbekistan and Russia".

In her address, the federal ombudswoman emphasized the importance of the Strategy on the rights of youth.

According to the High Commissioner, bilateral relations between Russia and Uzbekistan opened new prospects in education. In particular, 5 leading Russian universities (MGIMO, BMSTU, MISIS, MArchI, Sechenov University) open their branches in Uzbekistan, which will create a single "educational space".

Tatiana Moskalkova also spoke about challenges in protecting the rights of migrants. It is obvious that labor migration from Uzbekistan is now at a high level, 2 million labor migrants are currently working in Russia. This raises a lot of issues related to the protection of the rights of migrants.
