Tatiana Moskalkova shared with Zoran Pašalić Russian experience in combating pandemic

On April 10, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova discussed with Protector of Citizens (Ombudsman) of the Republic of Serbia Zoran Pašalić current human rights issues via videoconference.

During the conversation Tatiana Moskalkova noted the importance of ombudsmen cooperation in combating COVID-19.

According to the Russian Ombudswoman, the effectiveness of anti-crisis measures taken by states largely depends on the exchange of reliable information on a regular basis, as well as on the experience of human rights institutions in countering COVID-19.

The High Commissioner also spoke about measures to support Russian citizens due to coronavirus pandemic.

"12 laws have been adopted that define human rights in special conditions. All citizens related to the most vulnerable groups (large families, people with disabilities, pensioners, single people) receive additional financial assistance," Tatiana Moskalkova said.

In conclusion, Tatiana Moskalkova and Zoran Pašalić outlined a plan for interaction between the human rights institutions of Russia and Serbia, and also discussed the ongoing activities of the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance.
