The parties discussed a broad human rights agenda, in particular, general issues related to the crisis of the Council of Europe, suspension or termination of Russia’s membership in the Council of Europe and possible consequences for the guarantees of Russian citizens’ rights and freedoms.

The Russian Ombudswoman and the Council of Europe Commissioner also touched upon certain cases concerning Oyub Titiyev, Ukrainian citizens who are in custody in the territory of the Russian Federation, and Russian citizens held in penitentiary institutions of Ukraine. In turn, Dunja Mijatović addressed Tatiana Moskalkova in defense of the rights of Viktor Kudryavtsev, a 75-year-old scientist who is in custody on charges of treason.
