Tatiana Moskalkova held several meetings with colleagues in Uzbekistan

On January 16, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova held several meetings with colleagues during a working visit to the Republic of Uzbekistan.

Tatiana Moskalkova met with Speaker of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nuriddinjon Ismailov. The parties discussed the development of Russian-Uzbek cooperation and the main human rights mechanisms of the two countries, and also shared positive experience in improving the interaction between state bodies and human rights institutions.

The High Commissioner also met with Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan Nigmatilla Yuldashev. Participants of the meeting discussed the development of interregional relations, which are very important for strengthening bilateral relations between Russia and Uzbekistan.

In addition, the High Commissioner met with Director of the National Human Rights Centre of the Republic of Uzbekistan Akmal Saidov and discussed the development of cooperation under the previously signed Memorandum.
