"Today, together with Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Lyudmila Denisova we continued reciprocal monitoring of the humanitarian component of Russian citizens in Ukraine and Ukrainian citizens in the territory of the Russian Federation. This is a very important meeting for us, because it outlines ways of interaction and assistance to citizens, it gives hope to many and many families that the fate of people will be decided, so they could return home and receive assistance in places of detention," Tatiana Moskalkova said.

The ombudswomen of Russia and Ukraine also exchanged lists of citizens held in penal institutions.

"I provide Lyudmila Leontyevna with a list of citizens of the Russian Federation who appealed directly to me as the High Commissioner for assistance, and I ask for full support to ensure their interaction with families living in the territory of the Russian Federation, medical assistance, procedure and conditions of detention," the Russian Ombudswoman noted.

"I also brought you a list that contains 150 cases. These are citizens of Ukraine held in the territory of the Russian Federation and in the Crimea, including 24 sailors. I would like to submit it to you, so that you turn your attention, as you can do it, so that all issues of the humanitarian plan are resolved," said Lyudmila Denisova.

At the end of the meeting, Tatiana Moskalkova and Lyudmila Denisova expressed hope for further development of cooperation in the humanitarian sphere.
