High Commissioner met with President of International Ombudsman Institute

On February 21, High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova met with Ombudsman of the Republic of Ireland, President of the International Ombudsman Institute Peter Tyndall.

The participants of the meeting discussed topical issues of human rights protection, each ombudsman faces in the modern world. Tatiana Moskalkova and Peter Tyndall stressed the need to find new ways to overcome these problems, including the development of integration processes among states, as well as the creation of platforms for multilateral ombudsmen cooperation.

By prior arrangement, High Commissioner’s Institute is to join the International Ombudsman Institute in 2019. Tatyana Moskalkova and Peter Tyndall also discussed the possibility of a memorandum of cooperation between the International Ombudsman Institute and the Eurasian Ombudsman Alliance.
