High Commissioner provided assistance to victim

High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation Tatiana Moskalkova received a request from v. to assist in bringing to justice those who committed a crime against him.

According to the applicant, since March 2016, law-enforcement authorities repeatedly refused to initiate criminal proceedings.

Having familiarized with the materials, the High Commissioner sent a request to the Central Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

According to the response, criminal proceedings were instituted and a preliminary investigation was initiated.

Thus, the right of v. to access to justice was restored.
