An elderly woman received help

12 January 2018

Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation received gratitude for help in obtaining an allowance for retirement from the lonely living 80-year-old citizen N.

She appealed to the High Commissioner for Human Rights in the Russian Federation with a request for assistance in the appointment of a pension in connection with the death of her younger son, a police officer. The eldest son and husband died earlier.

Having familiarized herself with the materials, the High Commissioner sent a request to the Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Ryazan Region.

According to the response, in accordance with the Law of the Russian Federation of 12.02.1993 No. 4468–1 "On the provision of pensions for persons who have completed military service, service in internal affairs agencies, the State Fire Service, bodies for controlling the circulation of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances, institutions and bodies of the criminal-executive system, the troops of the national guard of the Russian Federation, and their families", an additional bonus of 200 per cent of the calculated amount of pension due to the death of the second breadwinner was added to N. The corresponding order for the payment of a pension in a new amount is sent to Sberbank of Russia.

The police initiated criminal proceedings, but the process was…
