On 15 December, a high-profile award ceremony of photo and video contest winners 'Human Rights: OBJECTIVe Opinion' was held in the Office of Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan.
On 11 December, within the framework of the city events dedicated to Human Rights Day, a special meeting of prominent local non-government organisations took place in the White Hall of the Mayakovsky Central Public Library in Saint Petersburg. The event was initiated by Commissioner for Human Rights in Saint Petersburg Alexander Shishlov.
Human Rights Day has been celebrated all over the world on 10 December since 1950.
