Protection of children rights discussed in Chechen Republic

On June 29, a round table devoted to the protection of children’s rights was held by participants from public and human rights organizations in the Office of the Commissioner for Human Rights in the Chechen Republic.

Participants proposed to introduce the promotion of healthy family relationships and behavior of teenagers in social networks. According to the specialists, webinars and lectures of experts, as well as explanations of legislation from different bodies can help.

Speakers welcomed the work carried out on the territory of the Chechen Republic for the reunion of families, noting the important role of preserving the institution of the family. According to the speakers, today it is necessary to conduct the control and monitoring of the state of relations between the newly united couples. Particular attention should be given to the future fate of children in such families.

«Unfortunately, today many families break up and the most disadvantaged in this situation are the children. Frequently in a divorce the former spouses begin to obstruct each other to communicate with the child. As a result, the legitimate rights and interests of both parents and children are infringed. Ideally, it happens when the spouses in the divorce agree on the joint child-raising and the procedure for communicating with him. In case of violation of this agreement by one of the parties, a judicial settlement of this family dispute arises. However, court decisions are not always enforced», — noted the representative of the regional Ombudsman Ali Hamidov.
