New Commissioner appointed in Sakha (Yakutia)

On October 30, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Sardana Guryeva took up her duties.

In her opening speech, Sardana Gurieva noted that the vote of confidence in the sphere of protection of human and civil rights and freedoms was important to her, and also noted the great contribution of her predecessors to the development of the Commissioner’s Institution: Fedora Zakharova (2003–2013) and the Honored Lawyer of the Russian Federation Alexey Efimov (2013–2017).

In conclusion, Sardana Guryeva thanked the new colleagues for the warm meeting and voiced the plans for the forthcoming work.
