On May 15, Commissioner for Human Rights in the Nenets Autonomous District Larisa Sviridova and President of the Red Cross regional office Svetlana Khatanzeyskaya signed an agreement on cooperation and collaboration. The event was confined to the 150th anniversary of the humanitarian organization.
The agreement entails the coalescence of informational, intellectual and organizational resources with the aim to improve the mechanism of the effective protection of citizens’ rights in the region.
Certain clauses of the agreement prescribe medical assistance to the victims of armed conflicts, catastrophes, natural disasters and other cases of emergency on the territory of the Russian Federation and abroad. Besides, some of them prescribe the cooperation in realization of social rights and legally protected interests of the underprivileged categories of society.
"Missions of our organizations are congenial. Charitable events and actions carried out by the Red Cross are targeted at the protection of citizens’ rights and imbued with the idea of humanism and sympathy to people", Larisa Sviridova said.
Besides, the parties will contribute to the amelioration of legislation and participate in the legal education of the population as well as to render reciprocal consultative and information services.
In conclusion, Larisa Sviridova and Svetlana Khatanzeyskaya shaped a plan of cooperative activities in 2017.
